Apple Crumble for breakfast – but the nutritious version.
Ingredients:
- 100g HCW rolled oats
- 250ml milk of choice
- 2 apples, cores removed, chopped into cubes
- 2 tbsp HCW raisins
- 1/2 cup HCW Golden Granola (for the crumble topping).
- 100ml double thick cream (optional)
- Pinch of salt
- Place your Golden Granola in a bag and crush (or use a blender and blend briefly), until you are left with crumbs (but not powder). Set aside.
- Place apple cubes in a large pot with a little water (enough to cover the bottom of the pot by about 10mm).
- Put the lid on and heat slowly, until the apple starts to steam. Cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the apple starts to brown and become soft.
- Remove from the heat and add your oats, raisins, salt, and enough water to cover them generously.
- Return to the heat and cook for 5 – 10 minutes, stirring often, until your water is absorbed, your porridge is fully cooked and a little sticky. If you need more water, feel free to add.
- Divide your apple-oats between two bowls, add a splash of milk to each and stir in. Add your Golden granola crumbs as a topping, and spoon on a generous dollop of cream, if using.
